COO/CTO Mizuta’s Research Paper on Blade Repair with AM Technology Accepted by the Journal of Materials Research and Technology

AeroEdge Co., Ltd., located in Ashikaga City, Tochigi, Japan, is pleased to announce that a research paper authored by our COO/CTO Mizuta, titled “Characterization of Ti–48Al–2Cr–2Nb fabricated by directed energy deposition”, has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Materials Research and Technology (Impact Factor: 6.2).
This paper shows an analysis of the mechanical properties and crystallographic structure of titanium aluminide alloy fabricated using Directed Energy Deposition (DED), a method of Additive Manufacturing (AM). The study explores the potential of this technology for repairing turbine blades made of titanium aluminide and anticipates its development as a foundational technology for repairing various components made from other alloy materials.
Part of this research was conducted in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute IWS in Germany, and AeroEdge will continue to strengthen international partnerships in research and development.
